Editor: I’m glad to see that the Site C Dam project is finally moving ahead, after 50 years of talk.
The dam is going to take a full 10 years to build before it produces a single megawatt of power, so the sooner we get things going the better. After all, who can imagine what the clean energy demands on our province’s power grid will be a decade from now, in 2024?
It could be LNG, it could be new, next generation mines and processing plants, it could be something that’s not even on the radar yet. Whatever it is, having a robust supply of reliable, cleanly generated energy is an economic asset that gives us an ongoing edge in a world dealing with climate change and the need to lower carbon emissions.
Bravo to all those who worked to make Site C a reality.
