Priorities in question

Reading and hearing and seeing about the starvation and suffering in Africa makes me wonder why, in spite of warnings and predictions of this tragedy, was so little done by world powers to avert it?

Reading and hearing and seeing about the starvation and suffering in Africa makes me wonder why, in spite of warnings and predictions of this tragedy, was so little done by world powers to avert it?

Why is there always so much money, so quickly, for wars and armaments and so little so slowly to save human lives?

Why, here in western world where so many have so much to eat, play and enrich their lives, is there so little concern for other humans who have so little?

Is it because they are coloured? Is it perhaps because they are not all Christian? Do we really believe in racial equality? Why are we so quick to destroy and so slow to save other lives? Just something to think about: are we really human?

Wouldn’t it be great to improve our international image if Prime Minister Harper would take the lead and send in some of our new planes to rescue these people who are walking and dragging themselves across the deserts in search of food and water and in hopes of reaching a refugee camp. Many will die in the attempt to reach help so why cant we “give them a lift.”
