Once again our Campbell/Clark system of fiscal frugality is rearing its ugly head, in the form extraction of cash saved by the banks of ICBC and BC Hydro,
But of course these are Crown corporations; explainable as another legitimate source of free for the use ready cash. Such ingenuity should really be a feather in their caps.
They have the nerve to tell the public that the costs are rising so the public must ‘ante up’ so that we will still have a balanced budget. Is there a new form of logic hidden somewhere in this blatant thievery of the cash that should be used to reduce costs, not add to them?
Also worthy of comment is the cost and hiring of the highest paid staff of ICBC. Too many bodies needed to run this Crown corporation. In a world currently lacking in public honesty, our present government is holding their heads high and proud as shining examples.
The above mentioned subject matter disgusts my sense of propriety. Our province once had a thriving forest industry; it is now like the skeleton stripped of its flesh, the LNG, a laughingstock, our salmon fishery by other offshore owners who refuse to rear stocks on land rather than the cheap way in floating cages.
I feel a sense that we are now getting up to speed on a downhill run to mediocrity.
