Qualicum Beach good the way it is

We’ve lived in Qualicum Beach for almost 15 years, and we love it. I’m getting really tired and annoyed about people complaining about our beautiful small town.

Usually it seems to be from people that  moved here from far and beyond, but I could be wrong. I admire our mayor sticking to his vision, of keeping it this way. Thanks.

I just read a recent letter to the editor in The NEWS about someone complaining about our pool, and no tracks for young people to run on.

We have a gorgeous beach in the summer to swim in and we also have fabulous well-maintained trails in many areas in town to walk, run and bike through. The pool is fabulous, and whenever I’ve been there, there is plenty of room, in and out of the water.

To those that aren’t happy here, well, guess what? The real estate market is hot all over and maybe instead of complaining, just put a ‘for sale sign’ on your yard and move north or south where all these mega Olympic pools are readily available and the kids can run around in circles on tracks, instead of running on trails and enjoy nature.

Maybe also investigate where you are moving to and accept things the way they are instead of trying to change things.
