I’m very disappointed in Vernon and Coldstream for the poor effort made to install accurate pride crosswalks.
Although the funds for the Vernon crosswalk were donated privately, it was still the city’s responsibility to ensure the symbol of inclusivity be install correctly. This is not the case with either sidewalk as the appropriate pride flag colours were not used. If you want to show a genuine interest if presenting yourselves as inclusive communities, you can’t botch the small gestures. This just ends up being colors on the road.
