Raise the Roof dance a huge success

Habitat for Humanity VIN is grateful that Raise the Roof generated more than $5,000 profit.

Dear editor,

We would like to publicly express our heartfelt gratitude to the community partners who helped make Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North’s recent ‘Raise the Roof’ dance such a great success.

Thanks to Canadian Western Bank for being our main event sponsor, 97.3 The Eagle for the great radio promotions, and to Quality Foods for gift cards to help purchase food for attendees.

Bouquets to the 50-plus local businesses who donated items for our silent auction, and to the many people who bought tickets to dance to the music of Luke Blu Guthrie and Time Well Wasted.

Three cheers to the 30-plus volunteers who gave willingly of their time and energy for every stage of the event – from planning, to set-up, event night, and tear down. We simply could not have done it without them!

Habitat for Humanity VIN is grateful that Raise the Roof generated more than $5,000 profit. One hundred percent of this money will be used to help build homes for 11 deserving local families at our newly acquired property on Lake Trail Road.
