In light of John Harding’s Dec. 29 editorial, one has to ask just how long our elected representatives will allow this group at the Island Corridor Foundation to continue abusing the public trust and purse.
I do however disagree on one point of the editorial in that I believe the $945,000 in funding approved by the Regional District of Nanaimo should be returned to the communities who contributed to this fund, of which Qualicum Beach’s share amounted to $60,000. At the time, many of these communities like Qualicum Beach voted against the additional support to the ICF, only to see it passed because of the weighted vote of the RDN directors.
Why let the RDN, which has mishandled this appalling debacle from the start, spend our money at their pleasure?
