Reader concerned about CCRD approving $200,000 to fix Nuxalk Hall

Dear Editor,

I recently heard that $200,000 from the Community Works Fund has been approved by the CCRD Board of Directors for the Nuxalk Hall Rehabilitation Project.

My question is this. How could the motion be made and seconded by employees of the Nuxalk Nation? Why was the opportunity not advertised to the community as a whole?

I am sure that $200,000 would go a long way to provide an enclosure for the Hagensborg Pool, so that the whole community would benefit, rather than a few.

Your readers should take the time and go online to read the minutes of these meetings. It is an eye opener. If they do not have access to a computer, I am sure that the CCRD office could provide them with copies of the meeting minutes.

Sincerely,Kathy NylenHagensborg
