To the Editor,
Re: Conservation officers kill cougar, bear, Sept. 12.
After reading about the death of a cougar on Hammond Bay Road and also a bear in the south end of Nanaimo at the hands of conservation officers I was disgusted and so sad. These animals had harmed no one.
Do these conservation officers have a crystal ball? Do they know for certain these animals will return?
Relocation should be first and foremost, and the animals should be put down if all else fails.
It must be wonderful to be a human animal with a license to kill.
