The judge’s reason for a light sentence – that former RCMP officer Monty Robinson is a native extraction – is an insult to the native community.

It is as if telling the community they are so backward that it is acceptable for the authority to bend backward to render all form of assistance, Robinson’s light sentence being one.

It is a blessing to the RCMP that Robinson resigned.

Otherwise, what little confidence the public have in the RCMP would only dwindle despite that the majority of police members are upright.
