ROAD DIET?

Not having gone to university for several years and learning all about traffic movement or lack of it, here is an idea for a bike lane which this council seems to be so passionate about.

How about we create a bike lane that travels the full length of the city from Swan Lake to Polson Park and beyond. Now for the uninformed answer.

Does the term railroad right of way ring any bells?

Does it not make sense to negotiate an agreement with the owners of the railroad tracks to allow a paved bike path on one or both sides of the tracks?

I think it would be a lot cheaper than digging up streets three or four blocks at a time.

Not to mention disturbing the businesses and their livelihood.

Just food for thought from an ordinary taxpayer who has to pay for this stuff.
