Roses and Raspberries

We recently visited the Williams Lake area to fish and hunt.

On our first stop at Hen Ingram Lake we had power saw problems, which is not good in your part of the country with high winds, blow downs blocking the roads and not being able to cut wood for the camp fire, etc.

While talking to a local fisherman and his wife (complete strangers) and telling them our problem he said that he was going into Williams Lake the next day and would drop off the power saw in order to get the repair job started.  Hopefully we would be able to pick it up in a couple of days.

We arrived in Williams Lake later in the week to find the repair job not started yet but a man waiting at the counter suggested taking the saw to the Honda shop. So off we go.

The man there said that his mechanic was off due to an accident and to try Gordo’s Rent All.

So off we go to Gordo’s and explained our dilemma to a young lady behind the counter.

She passed us on to the repair man who discussed the problem with us, identified and fixed it all within two hours.

Kudos to all the people and service we experienced and especially to Wally and Wendy Bergen who started it all at Hen Ingram Lake.

Thanks.

We wish to send a whole bushel of roses to a brave man, Kirk MacLennan.

He helped us walk through the raging flood waters in the Bella Coola Valley on Sept. 24.

With your assistance we were not washed down the stream.

We are so very grateful to you.
