Raspberries: In rural areas we are always aware of animals on roads, whether it be a deer, a cow or someone’s dog.
On Aug. 15 it happened to be someone’s dogs on Cougar Road at Rose Lake that you ran down and killed, our daughter’s two family pugs Zula (mom) and Min-Mouse (baby daughter).
You knew what you did. Not stopping or slowing down, you showed no remorse, leaving the scene with two dead babies (pugs) for Kim to find.
Shame on you. This scene will stay in Kim’s mind forever.

On Sunday, July 17 I had an accident 13 kilometres north of Williams Lake.
I was driving a red, 2011 Venza at the time. Thankfully, I was unhurt with the exception of some bruising.
I would like to say thank you to:
• The family who had been driving behind me for stopping to look for me, for calling for help, for getting me out of my vehicle and for staying with me until professional help arrived.
• The Wildwood Search and Rescue team who arrived quickly, assessed the situation, evaluated my needs and stayed for hours on site.
• My daughter and her family who came from Williams Lake to be with me, offer support, make phone calls and take my personal items from the vehicle.
• The RCMP officers who attended, stayed on site and drove me to the hospital.

We would like to send a bouquet of roses to the staff, entertainers and community volunteers who helped make the Medieval Market such a success.
A huge bouquet was earned by the willing students who helped in so many ways – unloading vendor wares from vehicles, taking tickets, delivering lunch orders, and dismantling and cleaning up. I think that we speak for all vendors – we enjoyed our time at the Market!

Roses: A big bouquet of roses from the Williams Lake Operation Smile group to all those who supported our campaign to raise funds by selling hot pepper jelly, raspberry jam and mince tarts at the Tribune/Weekend Advisor and preserves at Safeway.
The campaign raised $1,422.32 for Operation Smile, the international aid program in which medical teams travel to poor countries around the world to perform free restorative operations for children born with cleft lip/cleft palate.
Each surgery costs $240 which means the funds raised will put a smile back on the faces of almost six children. People who would like to help with Operation Smile can contact Bel Hume at 250-398-8740.
