• My husband and I were travelling east on Highway 10 Sunday afternoon. We saw smoke and then the grass on fire on the south side of the road near 128th Street. Roses to the gentleman in a white pick-up truck who pulled over and put out the fire. If it weren’t for his quick thinking, using a blanket to smother the flames, many of the trees and homes could have been damaged in no time! God bless you and all those trying to keep our province safe.

• Rotten tomatoes to the young guy on the R1 bus in Surrey going to Newton Exchange on July 28. He asked an elderly gentleman if I was his wife. I’m only in my 40s and that man looked like he was old enough to be my father! Do I really look like an old lady to you? If so, you need your eyes examined.

• Roses to Brenda Locke. You have made it clear that you are courageous and you have my support. I will be sure to let everyone I know to vote for you and Surrey Connect in next year’s election. Go Brenda Go!

• Rotten tomatoes to Surrey’s mayor and his four councillors behind Surrey’s new police force. Forty-six officers sworn in? Who is paying for these extra officers who can’t actually enforce the law for a long time to come? The taxpayers are. We are mad!
