Roses and Rotten Tomatoes (May 5, 2017)

A weekly collection of compliments and complaints sent in by readers

  • Infinite roses to the weather for finally bringing out the sun and starting spring. The past few months, Vancouver and area has had a lot of snow and rain and now that it has stopped, we are grateful! At least now we can get out of our houses!
  • Rotten tomatoes to RCMP for not issuing more tickets to people who let their animals climb all over them while they are trying to drive. Dog, cat or bird, your animal should be in a crate that is properly secured in your vehicle. A cell phone in your hand is no different than a dog on your lap. Pay more attention to the road.
  • Many pretty spring roses to the City of Surrey works department for being so easy to contact and for sending someone out within hours of my request. You guys are awesome! Thank you and keep up the great work!
  • Bouquets of red roses to all of the students and volunteers who gave us a fantastic version of the Lion King. A Betty Huff Theatre Club performance is always entertaining. Bravo!
  • A truck full of rotten tomatoes to Christy Clark for selling off B.C. property and not investing one cent to help fix the homeless issue B.C. has been struggling with for over a decade now. Clark has failed the province’s most needy and turned her back to them. She should be ashamed of herself.
  • Rotten tomatoes to the tow truck driver recently towing a vehicle going east on 67th Avenue at the corner of 184th Street – he drove over City of Surrey traffic cones, then stopped and stole them.
  • Rotten tomatoes to parents who don’t take their children out of the restaurant when they are making a scene!
  • Roses to volunteers in our community who are always so willing to give of themselves.
