Sad that babies can’t be born here

Editor:

I appreciate Rebecca Billard’s editorial ‘Comon’ Northern Health’ and the recent letters to the editor of Donna Brochez, Paul Jean, Paula and Keith Van Tine and Hugh Neave which have spoken articulately for a new hospital for our community and for increased attention to attracting doctors to our region.

It’s very sad to see that babies can’t be born here and pregnant mothers have to go through the added stress of travelling 125 plus kilometers to give birth. Just think of the distance Southsiders have to go.

We need a new hospital and more doctors and I am praying that God, who is compassionate and interested in our affairs, will provide these for us.

I appreciate everyone who is speaking out and doing their part to provide us with these improved services.
