Save on gas – ride transit

Editor, The Times:

Do you know that the community bus travels to Kamloops every Tuesday? It picks up passengers at Vavenby, Clearwater, Little Fort and Barriere. The first drop off is at Landsdowne Mall about 10:30 a.m., then off to the hospital if required by passengers and then on to Aberdeen Mall at 11 a.m. The return trip starts at 2:45 p.m. and returns via the hospital and Landsdowne Mall. Passengers have ample time to shop, go out for lunch and meet friends. The bus has lots of space for your purchases. Local transit systems also have their depot at Aberdeen Mall if you want to go to Walmart. The bus is used by local folks who do not or cannot drive, people who do not want to drive in the winter, people who just want someone else to do the driving, and others for a social outing to another area. The fare from Clearwater and Vavenby is $7.50 each way and from Little Fort and Barriere $5 each way. What a b-argain! How much does your vehicle gas cost to go to Kamloops?

If this bus does not have enough rider numbers it will be cancelled. I am encouraging folks to consider this form of transportation to Kamloops instead of driving your own car and help to keep this community service viable. Rider numbers are very important. To book your trip call 250-674-2600 and let them know you are coming.
