School board needs shakeup

'Teacher's concerns are the learning conditions of our students'

Re: SD61 board sees changes (Gazette, Nov. 21)

Peg Orcherton seems to express concern that the new board will consider teacher’s needs rather than those of our students.

Perhaps this is why the board “shakeup” actually occurred as the old board seemed to have insulated themselves from taking teachers’ concerns into account.

For the record, teachers’ concerns are the learning conditions of our students.

Hopefully the new trustees will have the fortitude to meet with individual teachers periodically, maybe stopping by on a Pro-D day for a conversation and to take the opportunity to see just how devoted teachers are to their students.
