Re: The Aldergrove Star, March 5, 2015, “Township calls for train warning signs.”

I feel the installation of these signs is a total waste of money.

Why? On the by-pass heading west at Glover road the traffic is backed up for the train.

Maybe six cars will pull out of the line up and go over to the new overpass to avoid the train.

The majority of drivers are content to sit and wait out the train because they want to stay on the by-pass.

To me this is further proof the overpass is in the wrong location and should have been built on the by-pass, rising over the tracks and Glover Road. This plan was proposed to the City of Langley which said no way and quickly sold off the remaining corner property so this could never happen.

If the City and Township were amalgamated at that time we would probably have an overpass on the by-pass today.

And another thing: spending millions to widen Fraser Highway makes no sense if the by-pass can’t handle the traffic flow.
