Smart meters have been in the news again as of late.
I used to live in Ontario years ago, way before all this “smart” stuff. We had a hydro meter in our basement, so we had to be home for the meter to be read.
They used to leave us a card which we could fill in with the reading and mail it, or call it in to the hydro office (a city utility).
This could be done here for those of us opposed to having a “Smart meter.”
Then, only once or twice a year, BC Hydro could go around to double check the readings at the meters. This should not cost the exorbitant amounts BC Hydro proposes to charge.
