I find it rather sad that they wish to stop me from taking my wife, who can no longer stand, up into the hills and trails, but allow this situation to continue. I am not advocating banning smoking outright, but perhaps the cigarette companies should be required to make the packets and filters returnable and refundable. In a short two-hour walk around the city and trails, one can easily see thousands of these filters.
It would not cost the smokers any more in the long run if they saved and returned all these filters and packages. My wife did smoke for years, but not once in all that time did she leave a butt or match anywhere, but put them in a can to put out with the household garbage.
Something to think about.
