Sports lounge needs 55 inch TVs

In the sports lounge at the Cowichan Community Centre, where patrons gather at intermission times during hockey games, it is very hard to believe that there are no 55 inch screen television sets for the patrons to watch different sporting events that are being televised. What the sports lounge has are small 20 inch TVs.

This is absurd. Why? In 2018, the Cowichan Valley Regional District paid out over $21 million in wages and benefits to its employees, and ending the year with a surplus of over $8 million. Surely with this kind of taxpayer dollars spent, the CVRD could purchase some 55 inch screen TVs for the sport lounge.

Fifty-five inch screen TVs can be bought for between $500 and $600. This proves to me that the taxpayer funded CVRD management team are missing the boat here without having 55 inch screen TVs in the sports lounge, or my guess would be that present CVRD management never go to Cowichan Valley sporting events. If they did, we would then see 55 inch screen TVs in the sports lounge. Unbelievable!
