Station Street park fine as it is; build washrooms instead

City Hall seems intent on spending a considerable amount of money on an 85 Station St. “improvement”. In my personal opinion that space is just fine as it is — a green spot with tables and benches where people can sit, have coffee, eat their lunches or ice cream cones from local shops, or just relax and listen to local buskers. It’s an attractive little breathing space in the middle of downtown.

If City Hall wants to spend money downtown, how about some public washrooms close to the public market? That is an area that attracts thousands of people all summer. They come downtown for the weekly market, for the Duncan parade, the totems, shopping, nightly music, and all the other summer events. The closest washrooms (which are inadequate) are at the old train station blocks away! Particularly difficult to get to if you have small children or are elderly. (By-the-way, there is a vacant lot next to the bookstore on Kenneth that would be an ideal location).
