Stealth technology

Resident concerned about the federal government's spending habits

A recent report that Ottawa is testing a $620,000 stealth snowmobile sent shivers up my spine. Whenever Ottawa and stealth are used in the same sentence a voice inside my head hollers, “Pickpockets.”

The Department of National Defence has nicknamed its high-tech snow machine after the mythological shape-shifting god Loki. Given the Conservatives’ penchant for altering facts and concealing information, Loki seems appropriate.

I can’t help wondering how our Afghanistan veterans, who are getting the bureaucratic runaround, feel about Harper’s willingness to spend $620,000 for a snowmobile.
