Re: Piano fundraising committee has grand aspirations
As an owner of a Steinway Grand I like to believe that they are the finest in North America or perhaps the world but the writer forgot to mention other contenders of that honour, namely Bechstein, Bosendorfer and Fazioli. Without doubt the Steinway is among the very best in the world but it is a more commonly recognized name than those mentioned.
I hope that the school is aware of the costs of maintaining such a fine instrument. Many schools with Steinway (and other) pianos can hardly afford to keep them in tune and with our interesting climate they can go out of tune more frequently.
