Stickle Road process off course

Resident wants the Ministry of Transportation to listen to the public

I for one hope that Richard Rolke is wrong when he says it’s expected the Ministry of Transportation will release a plan for the Stickle Road situation that will see 20th Street extended from Rona to Vernon Volkswagen.

Silly me, I thought that suggestion was a ridiculous idea that no one in his right mind would entertain. I guess Mr. Rolke’s point is that no one in the ministry is in their right mind in this case, nor do they care about our right minds.

Pity for us.

I can’t imagine why residents aren’t outraged. Anyone doubting that outrage is the proper response should take a walk behind Rona and see that an extension of 20th Street would take a monstrous bite out of the BX Creek Park.

It’s a relatively new park — a marshland and wildlife conservation area that is very popular with residents adding much to their quality of life.

And thank you,  Richard, for pointing out that this “solution” would solve very little for motorists needing safe transit at this dangerous intersection.

Yes, I think we need a little, or much, of the Cosens Bay resolve to gain the lights we all see as necessary while the ministry stumbles blindly along.
