Suite taxes should be proportional

As long as the city is collecting the additional taxes on them, I couldn’t care less.

It’s been a well-known fact for decades that there are multiple and illegal suites in Surrey. Now that Surrey has passed a new bylaw to legalize suites, everyone is whining and complaining.

As long as the city is collecting the additional taxes on them, I couldn’t care less. I’m really perplexed by the people complaining about Clayton Heights. Hello? When you bought in this area, did you not take a look around? These homes were built to have suites.

I think the real problem is these monster houses spread out across the city. I know of one such place where four families live together (all related), and there are 16 people living there. They have four cars parked in the driveway and three on the street. Is this okay just because they are all related?

I have a suite in my home in Clayton Heights with one tenant and a total of five people in my home. I provide off-street parking, use up no street parking, and pay the additional taxes. If the concern is safety, how can 16 people under one roof be safer than five?
