On the weekend of Oct. 25 – 27, Vernon Curling Club hosted its 64th annual Ladies’ Silver Star Bonspiel.
A couple of days before the bonspiel began, a gentleman came into the club – nobody knew who he was – and asked about this event. Before he left, he donated $200 to be given away at the bonspiel.
The committee decided to divide this money into $25 denominations and draw eight team names randomly to receive this gift. Both local and out-of town teams were lucky recipients.
This gentleman was a stranger and wished to remain anonymous but obviously has a kind heart.
On behalf of the Silver Star Bonspiel committee and all the participants of this event, thank you to whoever you are for adding to the success of our event. Your generosity is so very much appreciated by all.
