On Sept. 29 my husband had a cycling accident while coming down Canyon Road in Enderby. He suffered a broken neck and spine, but after undergoing surgery is home and expected to make a full recovery.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who stopped to offer assistance. And although there was little they could do to help John while waiting for the ambulance, the concern and compassion evident on the faces of these strangers was enough.
We would especially like to thank Dorothy Lee who phoned 911 and transported our bikes and gear back to our home. She subsequently continued to return and check on the bikes until I arrived back home late that evening.
As a footnote to this story, we are convinced that had it not been for a good bike helmet there would have been a much more tragic ending.
