Thank you to Lions Club for community service

Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach would like to say thank you to the Barriere Lions Club

To the editor;

Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach would like to say thank you to the Barriere Lions Club for hosting the annual Lions Book Fair once again this year.

Thousands of gently used books are annually sold through this event, with the profits going right back into our area in support of literacy and learning programs for youth.

These literacy and learning programs include Books For Babies, the Teddy Bear Picnic, the Parent Child Mother Goose Program, Summer Day Camps for Youth, Breakfast With Santa, ABC Family Fun Day, and much more.

The Lions Club not only provide their hall for the book fair, but also store the books, collect new donations, pack out thousands of stored books, and pack up all the ones left over for the next sale.  This year they also constructed a special storage room to keep the books in good condition for the next sale.

This is just one of the many programs that the Lions Club services within our community to improve the health and wellbeing of all those who reside here.

Thank you so much to the Barriere Lions Club and your members.
