Thanks cat rescue

Thanks to the increase in the number of local cats being neutered, more of them are now able to find homes and more injured cats are able to be saved and adopted.

Programs such as Qualicum Cat Rescue’s (QCR) free neutering for cats whose owners can’t afford it is one of several spay/neuter initiatives in our community. However, their program’s funds are somewhat depleted because of a couple of unanticipated vet bills for two abused stray cats.

Marconi, whose story was in The NEWS, has now been adopted into a wonderful new home. He had a wire deliberately wrapped around him and must have been suffering for some time as his skin had grown around the wire and required three surgeries to remove it.

A second stray cat is now undergoing some delicate repair work for injuries which his vet says can only have been caused by deliberate abuse. This young male cat will be fine and deserves a second chance in a loving home where he will not be hurt anymore.

Every animal lover wants to see a happy ending. To make these happen, Qualicum Cat Rescue needs money to pay the vet bills. Please let them know that you appreciate their work to help cats in our community by sending a generous donation.  You can do this through www.canadahelps.org — where you also have the option of giving monthly — or mail your tax deductible donation to the store at 104-166 West First Avenue Qualicum Beach, V9K 1M4. Or drop by the store. Qualicum Cat Rescue is on Facebook and also has a website. Thanks for caring.
