To the editor;
As you can see by the attached picture, someone took a wrong turn on their way to the dump. Or perhaps they were just too cheap to pay the fee at the dump.
I am sure they weren’t thinking that someone else might be able to use the living room set as legs were broken; cushions were worn through in spots and the entire set was very dirty.
Actually, I don’t think they were thinking of anyone but themselves as they dropped off these items on Saturday when the Seventh-Day Adventist Church was meeting. They spun out of the parking lot spraying gravel and were not the least concerned about interrupting people at worship.
Now the good ladies at the Thrift Store are stuck with having to haul the set to the dump and pay the fee. These wonderful ladies work very hard to provide a much needed service to our community. They spend hours each week sorting through bags of donated goods. Although signs have been posted saying that they cannot accept TVs, computers, and other electronic equipment, each week they have to spend some of their hard earned money to dispose of items that have been left at the Thrift Store but cannot be used.
The folks at the Church of St. Paul appreciate most of the donations made to our thrift store. We appreciate the support of the community.
We do not appreciate receiving garbage.
Please go through your donations carefully and send things to the correct place.
A final request. If you are dropping off something and there is a church service in progress please respect those worshipping by doing going about your business quietly.
Thank you,
Leslie Stirling
