We will all soon have our opportunity to vote on the Harmonized Sales Tax.

As we get closer to that vote, the Liberal government is spending your money to tell you what a good tax it will be for you.

I am happy to pay my share of taxes to pay for the important services we all need.

I am not happy, however, to take on the additional burden of yet another tax — the HST — while large corporations pay less.

The tax system must be fair to all and this HST is definitely not fair to individual taxpayers.

The Liberal government is trying to convince you that the HST is good for you.

It has even dangled a two-per cent cut in the HST as evidence of its concern for your well-being.

Of course it’s short on details and the promise of any cut is sometime in the future. Another promise. We all know how this government keeps its promises.

You will not have more government services with this added tax.

Life won’t get better or easier for you with the HST. You will, however, get to pay tax on services and purchases where no tax previously existed.

But you have the power to stop this tax. When your ballot arrives in the mail vote yes to cancel the HST.

Vote yes for fewer taxes.
