A letter writer wants to make it clear that some bridges, including the Ironworkers’ Memorial, have never been tolled.

The story properly tolled

The Lion’s Gate Bridge was tolled and the Coquihalla Highway was tolled, but the Iron Workers’ Memorial Bridge was never tolled.

In a letter to the editor from Joe Sawchuck dated Sept. 13, 2012, he was wrong as to what was tolled and not tolled.

The Lion’s Gate Bridge was tolled and the Coquihalla Highway was tolled, but the Iron Workers’ Memorial Bridge was never tolled.

Also, the Oak Street Bridge and George Massey Tunnel were never tolled.

He may be thinking of the old railway bridge at the Second Narrows that was tolled. Now it only is used by the railway.

Just trying to clear up what was tolled and not.

By the way, I think a toll should be put on the second-highest cost road, the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
