It is surprising that a man who sought a governing position in this town says “town control scares me.”
He states that the private sector should be allowed to do what it does best. What the private sector does best is to serve itself.
That is not a bad thing, but it needs to be tempered, balanced. That seems to me to be the very essence of government, to create rules whereby we can all serve ourselves up to the point where it no longer serves the greater good.
If we find we are in the job of tempering and balancing, and we are shocked to be in that position of control, maybe we are in the wrong job, or perhaps the wrong town.
