Third crossing would cost millions to save minutes

Dear editor,

Tonight, travelling home around 5 p.m., I turned off Cliffe Avenue onto the 17th Street bridge and all I saw was a sea of red brake lights stretching to Dyke Road.

Here was the obvious need to spend $31 million on a third crossing.

Daunted, I settled in to what would obviously be a long wait.

Four minutes later I was passing the CVRD offices.  Less than five minutes.

To cut that time would cost $6,200,000 a minute. Amazing!

Proponents of a third crossing, give your heads a shake. Ride your bike, take a bus or walk.
