To the Editor
It will be interesting to see who will be elected as the 45th president of the United States on November 8th. Personally, I would have preferred Carly Fiorina as the Republican candidate – mainly because she is well-educated, knows how the world works, and is one classy lady (not to mention quite attractive).
I can vividly recall when Ronald Reagan was elected as the 40th president on November 4th, 1980. He was my favourite Commander-in-Chief, and still is to this day. It was Mr. Reagan, along with Russian Premier, Mikhail Gorbachev, who met in Reykjavik, Iceland on October 11-13, 1986 to discuss eliminating nuclear weapons. This would mark the beginning of the end of the Cold War, and warming of relations between the United States and the former Soviet Union – courtesy of Ronald Reagan’s philosophy of “peace through strength”.
Fast-forward to the present. Whomever is elected president this coming November, he or she (along with NATO and Muslim allies) must defeat, once and for all, this evil force called ISIS so that an everlasting peace can be maintained throughout the world and put an end to war forever. Then we can pool all of our resources to combat global warming, which is now the greatest threat facing planet Earth.
In conclusion, you take care. Always have faith and never give up hope because the days, weeks, months, years ahead will see great and wonderful changes. One can never go wrong by trusting in the Lord. There is a lot to be said for the power of prayer!
