Time for a lottery goose hunt/cull

Are our politicians blind to the fact that it is our money they seem to just throw at a whim?

Re: the great goose cull debate.

Wait just a minute here folks, the Regional District of Nanaimo agrees to pay one third? The mayor of Qualicum Beach states: “I can’t think of a better way to spend taxpayers money” and the three-year budget is $100,000?

Perhaps I might offer a solution to the goose dropping problem. Surely there are enough hunter/gatherers out there that perhaps would like to participate in a local lottery to shoot a few geese (using their own ammo and a controlled kill/cull).

This, of course, would require a government bureaucratic committee/overview. Which is also a cost to we the taxpayers.

I know there are also those who just see the geese doing what nature does and are opposed to this cull, but our species just loves to dominate.

The money saved could be spent on the railroad. It boggles the mind.
