NATO, established after WWII, was designed to protect Europe from an invasion by Russia.
With the collapse of the USSR in 1991, Russia is now interested in developing into a strong nation based on trade.
Russia is no longer capable of, or have any desire to invade Europe, which is protected by the U.S. empire.
This is an opportunity to de-escalate war with Russia by disbanding NATO.
It would be replaced by a new independent defensive European Armed Forces which would result in a multi-polar world in which there would be four military powers — the U.S., Russia, China, and Europe.
The new European Armed Forces would be designed to defend Europe. With the disbanding of NATO, Europe would not, in its own self-interest, support the U.S. empire’s ambition for global hegemony.
The U.S. empire has to subjugate Russia and China to establish its global hegemony.
Its ability to do so will be reduced significantly should Europe withdraw from NATO and form its own independent European Armed Forces.
Logic would indicate that NATO should be disbanded.
