Editor: It’s time to honour our volunteers.
These wonderful people live in our community and we need you (the community) to let us know who they are.
I’m sure everyone knows someone who is always volunteering for everything and anything.
They’re volunteer drivers, organizers, event planners, bottle collectors, care givers, fixer uppers, creative talent, compassionate listeners, ticket takers, caterers, shoppers, chefs, cooks, waiters, bottle washers, DJs, event hosts, party planners, coaches, teachers, referees, volunteer co-ordinators, etc .
They volunteer for community events, clinics, cultural, fundraising, athletic and charitable events, for societies, in their churches and as staff in non-profit centres, in community locations, in stores, in hospitals, and throughout the Township of Langley.
In May, I sent a letter in which I noted that the Township of Langley would be looking for Township residents to honour at the awards ceremony that will be held in April 2017.
In the next few days, check the Township page for more information and nomination guide lines.
If you know someone who is an avid volunteer or volunteer duo, we ask that you please complete a nomination form on their behalf and send it in to the Township so we can recognize them for their incredible work in our community.
You don’t have to know everything they do but if you could put together their nomination and submit it with as much information as possible, we have a team that will help gather any missing information.
Nomination forms can be found online at the TOL or you can contact Sarah Morris at smorris@tolca or 604-533-6148.
Nominate someone today.
