In my travels I discovered that some restaurant chains have their employees sign a waiver to accept below minimum wage in lieu of tips. That is just wrong.
These people are hard-working, have to be pleasant and are among the most taken advantage of employees I know. The government should outlaw that practice.
Also, tips are a gift, a gratuity and should not be taxed as it helps a very economically depressed group of workers. It would help low-income workers move up a little.
I do not want my tips to go to a corporation or the government, it was meant for the recipient.
