I would like to comment on the significant noise created between midnight and 6 a.m. near the grain mill on Highway 11 at Maclure Road.
Nearly every weeknight there is a locomotive shuttling cars on and off the siding by the grain mill. The rail siding is surrounded by housing in all directions. Whether your windows are open or closed, the loudness of the continual blowing of the horn every time the locomotive moves is sufficient to wake anyone in the vicinity.
City bylaws about noise are clear. Loud vehicles are restricted, as are other loud noises. Where is the good neighbour attitude of the rail personnel?
Surely, with today’s technology, the need to activate these loud horns could be reduced or eliminated.
