Re: Tree removal was an ‘arboreal slaughter’ (Letters, Goldstream News Gazette, Aug. 14)
I read this letter enjoying the irony of Ms. Joiner’s comments. We bought the sixth house built in Westhills and our backyard was an entire “Green” forest until it was cut down to build Ms. Joiner’s house.
We bought knowing that the trees on the school property and behind our backyard would be cut down, just as the trees had been sacrificed for the house we live in.
However, we also knew that Westhills and Langford were protecting 40 per cent of the trees, an entire forest, just down the road from us. Trees have been sacrificed for our houses and trees must also be sacrificed for our children’s school.
