After recently attending the 70th Conference of the British Columbia Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries, I was pleased to hear what auxiliaries have accomplished in B.C.
Over 7,000 women and men donated 1,626,504 hours of their time in 2013. They donated $8,859,585 to hospitals for equipment, to care facilities and many other needs for health care.
In Parksville, the Trillium Lodge Auxiliary Society is a part of the BCAHA and we provide a tuck shop, beauty salon, manicure nails, provide books, do a monthly tea and assist when asked for aid.
Saturday, May 10, was declared Auxiliary Day in B.C. and I am proud to promote our local auxiliary.
