Unpainted streets

Resident not pleased with the condition of Vernon roads

I spoke with Vernon’s mayor about our unpainted city street lines and he did very little to give me answers that were at all satisfactory.

First, I was told that it is in control of the city yards.  And anyway, they don’t have the right kind of paint (something about being environmentally safe).

I guess they didn’t realize that winter would be over by the end of May and they didn’t have enough time to get the information on what kind of paint to order!

If our fine people at the city yards don’t know what paint to use, perhaps one of these industrious engineers could give Kelowna, Summerland  or Penticton a call and see what they used because their streets have been painted for over a month now. To shame people.

But perhaps I am missing the bright side of this.

If we wait another couple of months to paint our white lines on the roads, winter will almost be upon us and then our white lines will be brighter than everyone else’s.

Now why didn’t I think of that?
