Unplug and Play

Wow..did you see all the children out playing last week?

Wow..did you see all the children out playing last week? On behalf of the North Okanagan Optimist Club and our partners – the North Okanagan Early Years Council and Health Promoting Schools – we have to thank the entire community for supporting the second annual Unplug & Play Week.

From the children and families playing to our generous sponsors to all the community groups and businesses who opened their doors even wider during the week – a tremendous thank you.

Our children had a chance to see animals at Farmer Val’s and Davison Orchards, try a new sport like fencing and curling or to build something out of cardboard boxes at the science centre.

There was a chance for family fun at the Hillview Elementary Barn Dance or JW Inglis’ road hockey game, yoga, library and so much more.

A busy week but hopefully just the start to a healthy, active lifestyle.  So kids….it’s now up to you!  Make play and physical activity a part of your every day.
