I am writing to ask someone in the Township of Langley to please teach the blue box re-cycle driver/pick-up people to have some level of awareness where they place the blue boxes when they drop them on the ground. I live on a rural street with mail boxes and the drivers always place the empty blue box directly in front of my mailbox so the mail delivery people cannot reach my mail box.
I believe someone taught the drivers to place the bags inside and under the blue boxes, initially they were always blowing away after being emptied. Could the same be done and instruct them to use their senses and place the blue boxes behind or away from mailbox delivery paths, or any other traffic lane.
Also the speed they drive on my street is far in access of the legal posted speed. I have consider having the RCMP set up radar to catch them speeding on the street where I live.
Another consideration would be bi-weekly pick-ups as only about 20% of any active blue boxes are place out for pick-up on a weekly basis. It’s a gross misuse of taxpayers’ money having trucks driving around looking for very few boxes each week.
