The Vanderhoof Hospice Society is working on a wonderful project — they are renovating a suite at the Stuart Nechako Manor to accommodate patients requiring palliative care. The suite will have more room for visiting family members. The initial plan includes furnishing the suite with a sofa bed and there is already a small kitchenette.

The Voth family spent significant amounts of time in the palliative care rooms in St. John’s Hospital this summer with first Mary and then Harvey. Although every effort has been made to comfortably furnish the existing rooms, there are limitations on what can be done in that space. Yet, there were many lovely and precious moments at St. John’s as can be seen in the photo taken on Aug. 31, 2016 of Danika, Hailey, Harvey, Jamie and Lexi Voth.

The new space that is being developed by the Vanderhoof Hospice Society will give families private areas to spend time with their loved ones. We are very happy to support this great project because it will make it easier for large families like ours to be together.

The Voth family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Vanderhoof Hospice Society and its volunteers for the all that they did for Mary, Harvey, and the Voth family. Thank you.
