Vavenby society has busy season planned

Editor, The Times:

Vavenby Trails and Recreation Society has started the new year with great support and enthusiasm.

Our Valentine breakfast was a great success and, with the enthusiastic effort of Barb Pennell, we had a very successful Easter Egg Hunt.

At our March 10 meeting another five new members joined our society. Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at Vavenby Community Church, at which time we will discuss our community yard sale.

On May 7 the society will hold a map yard sale. The cost to be a seller is $5 to cover advertising in the Times. The maps will be available at Vavenby General Store and Allingham Trailer Park, which is your first stop on your right as you drive into Vavenby.

We have already signed up 10 places. If you would like to get your name on the map, contact Linda 676- 9578 or Charlotte 676- 9591.

If Birch Island residents and any people living along the highway towards Vavenby would like to join, please contact the above noted phone numbers.

We also will be holding a tea on Mothers Day, May 8, at Vavenby Community Hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone will be welcome. Tea and coffee will be served, along with petit fours. This will be a free event so come out and enjoy high tea.
