We can’t afford premier’s flights

Dear editor,

As many B.C. residents struggle to pay their electricity bills, rent or purchase homes, buy groceries, etc. we know one person who isn’t cutting back on much. While school boards are continually told to cut their budgets one person isn’t.

Premier Christy Clark, “queen of the skies”, has spent $600,000 on her private jet flights.  Must be nice.  Bet there are any number of school boards in the province who would like an infusion of cash like that.

While the disabled in B.C. have to make decisions about getting around or eating, Christy Clark spent $600,000 on private flights. Perhaps she can’t use Air Canada because she needs that videographer, RCMP officer, etc. to travel with her. In times such as these, when public schools are being forced to make sacrifices, it’s about time Christy did the same. Christy, give up the private jets. We can’t afford them, or you.
